Our Awesome Weekend

After 29 days straight without a day off Geoff finally got a day off... 4 actually! The Fort Knox big wigs gave the guys President's day so we hit the road Thursday night heading to NC so heres a quick overview of our FABULOUS weekend:
Friday: Arrive in NC 10am-ish, detour through Greensboro to try and visit Geoff's student teaching School, stop by my parents house to say hi and refuel. Headed to Elon in the afternoon to catch up with old friends; got to talk Army with Foley and AOII with Christia, got to relive Vesuvio's Pizza and Beer night with the Runkles and surprise the soon-to-be Rates with a late night drive by.
Saturday: We met up with the Hege's for an amazing double date complete with 3 orders of Chicken Crispers. They surprised us with quite possibly the cutest baby onesie of all time: Party at my Crib 2am! and a nice stroll through the streets of southpoint (complete with a Rocky Mountain Apple which is heaven on earth to this preggo-pop) Saturday evening Brian drove down from DC so we had a nice family bonding night.
Sunday: Surprise appearance at Westminster complete with brunch afterwards. Lazy afternoon on the couch flippping between golf , basketball and Daytona (Geoff got to momentarily live his redneck dream of being Ricky Bobby) Packed up the last of wedding presents, furniture and whatever else my parents had been storing for us and rested up for the long haul back.
Monday: drive, drive, rest stop, drive, rense and repeat

The greatest part of the weekend, besides getting long over due hugs from friends and family was that we OFFICALLY RECIEVED ORDERS! wwaahhooooooooo ~not gonna lie we both did a happy dance~ We are offically Fort Hood bound and have the papers to prove it. This morning I met with the base transport office and the movers will be here to pack us up and ship us out next Friday! I guess when it rains, it pours becuase all of a sudden life is really moving here, meetings to have, things to set up, moves to plan, Is to dot and Ts to cross... all of it exciting as we can finally look forward to the day where we get the keys to our first place!
