Sorry that I have been slacking on things everybody! We've got new batteries in the camera, the house cleaned from one set of visitors and anxiously awaiting the next (friends Eric Snyder and Liz Hacker from Elon/ROTC are coming for Labor Day), we've packed away the newborn clothes -insert single tear- and have moved the 3 month clothes from the closet into the drawers... life is chugging along!
Many of you have been asking about Tiffany and Ray, so I'll fill you in on an email we got from Tiffany last week. [Ray was injured on July 11, 2007 at FOB Hammer in Iraq. He sustained a head injury with possible brain injury which will be determined thorughthis rehab stage.]
"He lost his right eye from shrapnel wounds. He had tohave surgery on his front portion of his brain and they had to remove part ofhis skull because of brain swelling but it will be replaced in 2-4 months. He had to have surgey on his liver and diaphram because he had a penetrating wound. He has been recovering better than thedoctors had anticipated. Ray and I welcomed our beautiful little girl, Alexandra Cynthia Fleig into our family on Sunday August 12, 2007 at 4:45 A.M. We were lucky that Ray was having a good day and that he got to be by my side through the entire delivery. Ray is so proud to be a new Daddy that every day that Alli comes tovisit it is his highlight of his day. We are lucky enough to be staying literally just outside the hospital door that when ray says he wants to see me it only takes me less than five minutes to walk there and get to him if the nurse calls at night."
Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers, we know that Ray is one heck of a fighter so we're keeping our fingers crossed!
