I know that this blog has been very Grant-centric but this post is all about Geoff. Big changes are happening in Texas! Geoff was told Thursday afternoon to go interview for another Battalion and he found out today that he got the job. (He was not expecting to as he was given a "coin" at the interview which he read as "thanks but no thanks") So Not only does Geoff leave his Platoon and Troop (something he knew was going to happen somewhere in the not so distant future) but he leaves the whole Squadron. His old Squadron was 8-10 and they reflagged as 1-9. He will now be with a Field Artillery Battalion, 5-82. ((Deployment timeline is still looking the same))
P.S. He also brought home the Army Commendation Medal today for being "Top Gun" at gunnery a few months ago (on a Bradley for which he'd never been trained!)
WAY TO GO BABE!
