well then you must not have a "gamer" husband and an almost 5 year old!
Skylanders we the "must-have" game/gift/toy/videogame thing-a-ma-gig this christmas and while I do believe Geoff got it for himself solely, Grant has taken quite a shining to them.
Its basically a video game of a fantasy world and instead of just having different characters in the game you game buy plastic play pieces of the characters. The game comes with this portal that hooks into your Xbox or whatever and when the plastic character is on the portal that character comes to life in the game.
Well apparently the creators didn't know just how popular it was going to be. I mean even Beiber loves them...
long story short, as a good behavior reward we had told Grant that if he listened and was polite and helped around the house all week that he could pick out a new character on Saturdays. Problem is now that they are hard to come by. So whenever we are in a store (BestBuy, ToysRUs, GameStop etc) we look to see if they are there and snap them up.
Recently Geoff saw a three pack at ToysRUs and got it. He came home to find out that Grant had 2 out of the 3, and it was not worth paying $20 for just one new character, so he was going to return it.... but out of curiosity he checked Ebay. We could not believe what we saw. That exact 3 pack was going for $150! So you better believe we set up shop, snapped a few pictures and got to selling.
24hours later the sale just wrapped up and the winning bid was $138 plus $4 for shipping!
WOOOOOOWHOOOOO for earning $120 sitting on our butts
