In My Mind I'm Goin' to Carolina

We're back in North Carolina but I thought I'd fill you in on our last week up north. Mom and Dad celebrated 34 years of marriage (Grant and I got to tag along for a fabulous Sunday Brunch) Nadia and I did some damage at King of Prussia and we all soaked in the last few days of nice cool weather!

Precious Or What?

Grant loves his Daddy Doll and has started using it like a phone (he only gets to hold phones when hes talking to Geoff) I think its the most precious thing EVER!

Grant's New Tricks

His own version of Miranda's Rene Zellwiger impersonation... we call it scrunch face!

I thought "man, he looks tall, hes about 2 heads above the gate" then learned he just had a new balancing trick!

Walking! Still assisted but he'll walk if you hold his hands, or if hes walking behind a push toy! (hes not so sure about waves though...)

Dream Come True

Yesterday a dream of mine about 6 years old finally came true, I got to blow glass! I don't know where I first got so mesmerized by the process, or the beautiful product, but I've always wanted to do it, and finally got to!

(picture from about half way through)
We took a day trip to Corning, NY (it took me WAY too long to make the obvious connection between the town name and Corningware) We shopped along the historic Market Street, were serenaded by a great "homeward bound" rendition over a deli lunch, saw an Ansel Adams/Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit at the museum of art, toured the museum of glass and I had my appointment to blow my own ornament. I splurged on a Peggy Karr platter in the gift store and made the trip back to Alden lake as one very content girl!
--it had to cool overnight so my masterpiece is being mailed, I'll post the finished product picture in a couple weeks--

Reunion Recap

The Curtis family clan was reunited once again and it was a whole bunch of fun. Grant had a blast meeting Sophie (my cousin Diane's youngest), everyone ate way too much and Brian managed to get all the little kids terrified! We all enjoyed the ice cream, popcorn and slushie machines, the kids loved the water (mostly) and we have it all to look forward to again when Aunt Dorothy celebrates her a 90th birthday party next year. Here is a quick recap:
There were a little over 50 people in all but everyone missed Geoff and Ashley (somewhere in the African jungle right now). Maybe one of these reunions will actually have everyone there~

A Morning in the Life of Grant

Every morning I wake up and say "hummm, wonder what I can get into today" and this morning Mommy captured it all (well, everything that happened in 30 minutes...) She didn't get videos of how I can almost reach the door handles, how I can find every little piece of dust or how I pick at the rug to see if I can pull any stings out to eat, she also didn't get how I keep trying to open all of the drawers thinking that one day the child safety locks won't work, or how I can climb the stairs like a champ- even stopping to make sure I can't eat the wood grain.. oh well, she did seem to portray a normal morning in my life. Enjoy!
