Kiss Me, I'm {not always} Cute

Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody! (hope your morning went smoother than ours)

Arithmetical Answers

So what DOES a love of monograms, plus fun bedding, plus Kim Wheeler at Small Words equal?!?

I can't do the pictures justice, go to her site/blog for the whole shabang, but seriously HOW BEAUTIFUL are these?!?! As if I weren't anxious enough for Geoff to get back, now all I can think about is moving back to Fort Hood, get everything out of storage and hanging these bad boys up in their place of honor for me to gawk and gaze at endlessly.

Happy Friday the 13th

We had quite a festive day around here today. We had Little Gym in the morning, came back to be surprised with an afternoon full of wonderful deliveries and finished with 'sgetti and 4 different desserts. Life is Good! Grant says "thanks Grandma and Granddad for sending mommy the fruit arrangement, its delicious, maybe I'll even share with her", he also says "the more frosting the better" (anyone else notice how he's the one enjoying all of my goodies?) My fun treats were cashmere sweaters -oohlala- a super fun 9ft patio umbrella, and some lovely springtime gerbers sent all the way from the desert in a vase that I heart big time! I am one lucky lady~

Artsy Arithmetic

--is it sad that I'm excited I finally got a chance to use A Rat In Tommy's House Might Eat Tommy's Ice Cream-- anywho, I have some simple math that will hopefully make you smile as much as I have, I know SMILING at MATH, its a strange concept but here goes:
A strong belief that monograms make everything better, classier and just plain fun
PLUS the newest fad of putting words/letters up as headboards

PLUS my absolute LOVE of our bedding that we registered for when we got married (Pottery Barn's Maire Floral),
PLUS the time a talent of an extremely gifted woman, and Armywife, named Kim at SmallWords who makes the most beautiful canvases; what does that all EQUAL?
well, actually I don't know right now because all I got was a little sneakypeek but I can tell its going to equal something really really really good that makes me smile from ear to ear every morning when I wake up! I mean how beautiful is that flower? Its my favorite out of all of the ones on the duvet and I even notice the small sprigs of somethingorother that are peeking out around it, she NAILED it. and now all I can do is sit and wait until the finish product is revealed and daydream about hanging it in the new place for Geoff to see when he is HOME...

Sunny Days, Sweepin' the Clouds Away

SNOW 5 days ago and today we've got SHORTS! Grant faced his first trial with good ole flip-flops today, at first he wouldn't move from the spot we set him down in, he was afraid to walk in them but of course was running before too long. So now without further ado I present our son, Grant Potter and his happy feet/stunna shades dance~
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYBODY!

Personal Handwriting Font

okay folks, I just stumbled across one of the coolest things. for those whole get crafty digitally there is this site that will turn your own handwriting into a computer font for free -I told you I found something cool- I mean how fun will it be to be able to print out things for a scrapbook without worrying that its a sloppy handwriting day or that you might spell something wrong, you can type it up and it'll still look personal. its super easy, print out a page, write on it, scan it back in. easy peasy, and the result? SO FUN. plus how cool will it be in a few years to capture Grant's handwriting at different stages, oh I am getting drunk with the possibilities... check it out! http://www.yourfonts.com/

Jim and the JETS

okay I'd be lying if I didn't say that there has been a song floating in my head for the past day or so, so here goes...
"ji-ji-ji-jimmy and the Jets" (yes, Katie just spit her drink out at the computer screen)
...and you're more than welcome for now having it in your head!
It is true, Jim has officially traded the purple of Baltimore for the green of New York -I mean-New Jersey, and for the next three years we'll be cheering loudly for the New York Jets while wondering if there is something magnetically dragging them to the coldest places in the country~

Wonders of Technology!

So, I don't know how much people know about Geoff/where hes at and all that jazz but I'll just say that he is at one, if not THE most forward operating bases in Iraq. That doesn't mean a whole lot to most people but when you see reports of Baghdad bases being mini-cities, that people have most of the comforts of home, yea, not these guys. They started with nothing, sleeping in tent, eatting MREs, they got excited a month ago when they got UPGRADED to portapotties! So I hear all of these wives who get to Skype and talk with their husbands every night and while I am so happy for them, you can't help but get a bit jealous. Well, after 6 months at this place they FINALLY have internet set up for the guys and I got to SEE Geoff! So these are his diggs. Note the James Bond poster up, as if there weren't enough action goin' on -geeze- Anyways, they are on childrens bunk beds and I'd love to be a fly on the wall, Geoff pokin' out on both ends, wondering if tonight is the night that the caved in bars above him will finally give way and his "upstairs" neighbor will join him in the sack!

Meet T&P

Words can not convey how excited I am about these Toot & Puddle canvases! After the joy of our old friend Peter Pan I was wondering how to make Grant's future rooms just as crafty without the heartbreak of having to paint over them... plus with a rental now, all we have to do is put a nail up and when the Army sends us on our way, Toot and Puddle can come with us!
People tell me I'm artsy but I'm not, I'm crafty. If you're crafty too these were actually simple to make (its the same thing I did for the Peter Pan walls) I went to Noggin.com and found a coloring book page of the characters and printed them on overhead transparencies. Then I visited Sally at her classroom and projected the image onto my canvas and traced. Once I got home all I had to do was "color" inside the lines. Easy Peasy! (Clearly Grant is a big fan too)
