She said, "My boy, I think someday You'll find a way
To make your natural tendencies pay
You'll be a dentist You have a talent for causin' things pain
Son, be a dentist People will pay you to be inhumane
Your temperament's wrong for the priesthood
And teaching would suit you still less
Son, be a dentist You'll be a success
Yes, we braved Grant's first trip to the dentist this morning. Lets just say its 10am and I'm contemplating heading to Olive Garden alone for lunch so I can get my fill of Strawberry-Mango Margaritas. I had noticed a while back that his teeth were yellowing and it wasn't something you could brush or scrub off, and after this morning I now know that his saliva is chopped full of extra calcium. Apparently any little piece of plaque that is left on his teeth after brushing just feeds this calcium so he gets hard deposits on his chompers. JOY! So we (you know, the dentist, 2 technicians and I) held him down, got it all scrapped off and tried to make up for it with a few Diego stickers. The dentist asked if we had a family history of dental work and I felt Dad laugh as I responded that if he has my mouth (i.e. my Dad's) Grant is probably doomed for Orthodontia. Friendly doctor told me, yes Grant has an overbite and will need braces at 11 or 12.... so I'll wrap it up by saying, Now accepting Donations to the Grant Childs Oral Health Foundation!

POOR KID!!! I think we are the most cruel to our children when passing down our bad genes...too bad we can't protect them from that one!! Give him kisses and a treat, he'll forget you were a party to holding him down!!!
So sorry Grant!! I guess you are getting a double inheritance whammy. Ask your Dad about "feel bad" gifts -- he needs to take you to the store!!
Love
